Harry Potter does not die in the last movie. When Voldemort fires the Killing Curse at Harry, he simply kills the part of his (Voldemort’s) soul that is in Harry as a Horcrux. So, a part of Harry dies, but just a part that connects Harry to Voldemort. There you have it.
Why did Harry have a choice to die?
Harry needed to be destroyed for the part of Voldemort’s soul to be killed. Had Lily’s protection been responsible for the survival, he would not have died.
