In Arthurian legend, Gorlois (Welsh: Gwrlais) of Tintagel, Duke of Cornwall, is the first husband of Igraine, whose second husband is Uther Pendragon. Gorlois’s name first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae ( c. 1136).
